New long-haul connections
Several notable routes are launching this summer. They expand choice for long-haul travelers in particular.
EVA Air begins four-times-weekly nonstop flights between Taipei and Washington Dulles on June 26, becoming the first carrier to link Taiwan directly with the US capital and expanding its North American network to 10 gateways. The route fills a real gap, giving travelers between Taiwan and the eastern US a direct option for the first time. European service is growing too. Singapore Airlines will increase flights between Singapore and Manchester, Milan, Munich, and London Gatwick from July 2026, with the Manchester service moving to daily from July 13. The airline is also adding Madrid as its 15th European destination for the first time since 2004, with the new Singapore-Barcelona-Madrid service launching in October and tickets going on sale in June.
